Hi Smartboy75 & Wawa, I also received the same update on Sep 28th ,I am in pending h1b transfer and uscis tried to reopen my previous approved h1b .
I am June filer and got all the receipts. Please keep me posted as well.

This is an excellent idea. For those who have already registered on change.gov know how effectively the president-elect is using this website. I get regular updates on whats happening with their healthcare initiative and they also regularly ask for people's opinion on different issues.

story/rumor was that only Texas center was holding off application...is Nebraska doing that too?
My attorney said that he received my I-485 application back from Nebraska service center on the 9th statting that priority date is not current.
My application is I-140 PP(EB3 to EB2 (Nov 2003)PD transfer)+I-485.
I've got the receipt for I-140 and my application was received by USCIS on June 29th.
I think my case is different and they would have got confused with everything going on and just returned the application.
My attorney sent the packet back to USCIS saying that my PD is current in June with the PD Transfer and that they should accept it.
I'll update with whatever happens.

Members are always been targeted for contributions for lobbyists, free lunch etc. and yet nothing concrete have been acheived by IV. I have never seen this website(immigrationportal) ask members for a single dollar yet have been just as helpful or even more helpful than IV and also this website is flame free you can express your self without fear. At IV to disagree you are a moron..(GIVING RED DOTS, ACTING LIKE A GROUP OF KINDERGARDEN KIDS, NO WONDER THE HORSE BILL WAS MARKUP AND HR5882 ISN'T)
I think its time for the chicken to come back to roost, the grass is not always greener on the other side. Save your money in this time of need and lets us make this site what it was in past before when some selfish persons seeking self gratification lure away members. The moderators of this site is to blame because they played a part in sucking up them, by deleting post that IV is not pleased of and giving aways members IP, thus in the process leaving this site to die a slow death.

you are asking for EB2 guys in 2004,2005,2006,2007 to wait for EB-3 guys in 2001,2002,2003,2004. Point is well taken. Its a humane way of handling things.
Perhaps they should not make EB1 current, let them wait a year or two while 2004 EB2 and 2001 EB3 get their green cards.
Ask this question to yourself. If you were an EB2 person with 2004 priority with a spouse and kid, Would you be willing to wait few more years to get your green cards so that a 2001 EB-3 shall get his faster and may not care /appreciate your sacrifice?
Your position helps yourself and nobody else. I dont have any problems 2001 EB3s getting approved before 2004 EB2's. Thats the way it should be, but not at the expense of EB2's. Feeling of entitlement is not adequate justification. USCIS has established a way to convert to EB2 status, if you have sufficient experience. You can certainly try that option.
I just spoke my mind, dont care if i get red dots or not. Apperantly people here are way too sensitive to an opposite point of view.

I agree that EB3 or for that matter any category should not benefit at the cost of another. But, when it comes to spill over, I personally feel that the numbers should be equally distributed among all retrogrossed countries and categories.
If there are 20,000 numbers that DOS thinks will not be used in the current FY; then let it distribute equally to all categories. Say if EB2 and EB3 (I) or China gets 5000 each, then obviosuly, because of a shorter queue EB2 dates would move forward beyond EB3 does. I think this is fair.
Whether a humane approach or a logic approach, it does not make sense for a EB3 (or any category) to wait for 7 years!!!

I agree with all you folks that we should not just be happy and end our fight here after getting EAD etc...
We should try to push it back to the government as why legal immigrants from india have only 9800 visa every year...its unjust for a country as big as india and havin so many hitech workers....
On todays 7/18/07 NPR news, a USCIS spokesperson has mentioned that USCIS has made a note of the recent protests by legal immigrants(flowers and rally)....NPR also has mentioned this website also....it is a big achievement for us and we should pursue till the final step...check out the link below.....

I think US experience will hold good in canada, at at least in IT. Canadian experience matters for immigrants who directly come from their home countries, never having lived in north america before. The trick is to find a good enough job for your experience level .. what is the point of going there and doing the same kind of job that you were stuck with here ?. That is easier said than done given the limited size of the canadian IT industry. I second your thoughts if you do get a good job, an year or so should be good enough to establish yourself. I fact, I know a couple of guys from my area who moved to canada with their families to escape retrogression, and are now well-settled there with no intention of ever coming back to the US. But yes, it took a while for them to find those jobs.

These are small regulations that agencies can do. But even for such changes, the time period to get it done is very long (several months to a year). At least DOL woke up and acted. It will still leave a door open for sellers to stay happy and able to substitute labor. However it is not easy to find a buyer of a LC in 45 days.
All these are small problems compared to retrogression. Labor substitution rule will not get any visible or any noticeable relief to us. We will continue to stay retrogressed and wait for another 10-15 years for our greencards. It is important for us to contnue to fight to end retrogression by getting a legislative change done. As long as members are there to support IV, the organization will use every means to get relief measures for all of us. The coming months are crucial to our struggle. We need to stay united and continue the effort of making this organization a formidable force on the hill. IV members writing negative comments on various forums or feel disheartened should know that to get even a smallest job done is not easy. They are not only harming the whole effort and making anti immigrants happy, but also harming themselves by hurting this cause. Sometimes it is sad to read such negatve comments when you know how hard it is to work with limited time, resources, manpower and lack of much needed motivation in members.

It can be seen from their posts on their sites and also the hate mails they write on our forum and send to core members. You dont see a lot of it because we moderate posts.
